I have some Bushnell's, I really like them but not being 'into' binoculars I'm not sure of the credibility of the brand...

Re: Binoculars which pair?
I bought a pair from the chaps at Cley Spy in Norfolk, just along the coast from Wells. Being a bird watchers paradise they have a magnificent selection and also some good quality second hand items. I walked away with some Acuter binoculars for less than £80 (really a beginners pair for someone with a limited amount of money!) but because they are active twitchers they have a wealth of knowledge about the stock they hold and are very willing to help. Plus you can try them out before you buy.

I use Olympus, they are small, light, great optics and stand a lot of abuse. Just like their cameras.

I bought the Nikon 8x42 Sporter Ex just before Christmas.Good for the price and reasonably compact. They also let a good level of light in too.

Bob, I'm now considering these Nikon Sporter's, do you get blurring on the edges?Bob Murphy wrote:I bought the Nikon 8x42 Sporter Ex just before Christmas.Good for the price and reasonably compact. They also let a good level of light in too.
I've ruled out a pair if Bushnell's I couldn't even get them in focus. I think it is a case that some makes suite certain people Ie their eyesight.
Re: Binoculars which pair?
Hi Tadpole, the Nikon Sporters seem to focus well with no blurring at all.Much better than some of the other makes that I had a look at in the same price bracket. Also comes with a well padded neoprene case and carrying strap.

Re: Binoculars which pair?
I finally went for the Nikon 8x32 Sporters which really suite my eyes, clear and bright (the binoculars, not my eyes!)
Thanks for your help gents, now I can start viewing nature a little closer.
