The perfect hook -

Could you just wing them a bit so that I can draw, hang, draw and quarter them..... I detest that phrase.John Aston wrote:

Well I'm a grumpy old fart ..... Here's a few terms/phrases I detest, slabs, silvers (ignorant of the fish they catch?) Folk that say cruz instead of Crucians, bagging up or bagging machine.......DaceAce wrote:Could you just wing them a bit so that I can draw, hang, draw and quarter them..... Re: what are your favourite fishing quotes?
Recently came across this little gem from the wonder works of H.T. Sheringham,
"But there is a thing about floats which I have noticed sorrowfully, and cannot explain. The one which looks the nicest, sits best in the water and reveals most bites, always is to be found on the line of the other man. To comprehend this one must, I fancy, plumb deeper depths than those of angling."

Re: what are your favourite fishing quotes?
I would rather be sitting at the lakeside fishing and thinking about God, than sitting in church thinking about fishing.
The way to a Game Fishermans heart is through his Flies.
My favourite quote, though not really to do with fishing, but is often quite relevant...
I hear loads of experts, but I do not see many!

Expert (pronounced ex-spurt)
ex means past-it, and spurt is a drip under pressure

Round, 400 yards across and treeless - certainly not Redmire.
