Old book.

Post by Mr B »

I was looking through my books today to find for a good read.
After rummaging through my dusty bookshelf i came across a book I haven't read yet.
It has been with me for as long as I can remember (shame on me!)

"A book on Angling by F Francis."

What is nice it is inscribed inside.. As far as I can see it reads...The Gillie of Miss Roach, Sept 21 1894.
It is not easy to read the name, but I must take a photograph of it.

It has some lovely plates of flys with a tissue paper covering and a nice print of the Author and his gillie at the beginning.

Looking forward to reading it.

I know its not a run of the mill book.

The close season is an important and interesting time for the Angler who set out to catch big fish. It is a timely opportunity for him to make new tackle or renovate old. There are no end of jobs to do, apart from those horrible things called Gardens!
