Can you name the book and author - Quiz

Post by Mark »

Can you name the book and author of this little passage. So as not to make it too difficult the book was first printed in the late 1950’s and republished by The Medlar Press in the late 1990’s.

There is no ‘best time’ for big carp. I prefer the very beginning of the season, early June, or else the beginning of September, just before the winter frosts send them down. Walker caught his forty-four pounder in September and many other large ones have been captured in that month. I suppose it will be some time before this record is beaten, but remember there a bigger fish in Redmire, for I have seen them. One day a fifty pounder will be caught.
