I have read my copy every year since it was bought for me in 1964 / 65 - my desert island book choice.

I can see why. It's a beautiful book.

I have been fortunate enough to fish the swim on the Kennet where Walker lost his monster barbel being one of the stories in the book albeit I only managed a modest Chub but a privilege indeed.

Great story and very interesting PershoreHarrier. I bet every time you read that section it brings back wonderful memories.
