Angling Times Spot the Float Competition

Never entered Spot the Float. Being a suspicious old cynic even at age 16, I began to smell a rat when the published answer to the previous competition showed the float in one place, but the angler's gaze directed to the other end of the swim!

That sounds like me Peter, i am too busy looking at whats going on around me. I usually turn back just in time to see my float pop back up.

Oh yes - me too, frequently - forgot about that aspect. On the other hand, at age 16 I would not have understood any possibility of momentary inattention. All the power of my agile young brain would be 100% on the float for the entire session (unless of course there were any girls within half a mile ..!).
