there is another copy on ebay if anyone want the first edition

I'm really enjoying reading this again. I was born and brought up in the Lincolnshire Wolds and, as a teenager, even drank in the Black Horse at Donnington and played cricket for my village team on the pitch in front of Hainton Hall. Who knows, maybe I unknowingly rubbed shoulders with some of the greats.

one of these first editions books are on ebay on at the moment its a very good book worth a punt if you haven't got one

Came across this old photograph of a man and boy fishing at Woldale in the 1920's, long before the Carp Catchers Club days. Thought it might be of interest.

Me too, it's buggered now. Had the pleasure to fish there once, not allowed to tell the tale though.

I live local to Woldale and was under the impression that it was fished by a very select "invitation only" syndicate who managed the water with diligence.

Whilst the hopes that the Carp Catchers had of it being a match for Redmire never materialised I am sad to hear that it has fallen into decline.
