The secret carp by Chris Yates

Post by Snape »

A lovely book - I picked up a 1st edition about 15 years ago from Simon Legg in Kingfisher's of Stow on the agreement of getting CY to sign it.
Chris's words on the note he included with it were "... Though casting at the sun was more popular the secret carp is more from the heart and better written, I think..."

Anyway there's a rare leather bound one for sale on ebay (not mine!) but bids are high!

I just searched for it online and found it here http://www.merlinunwin.co.uk/bookDetail ... ategoryId= published by Merlin Unwin in 2008 you can still buy it for £150.

Yes, one of my favourites, and with the added bonus of being able to have Chris himself read it to you if you get the audio cassette version.

Quite a novel read with a few far fetched twists, almost as if it was written by somebody "Under the influence" in places. But a book that has a place of pride on the bookshelf.

Still trying to get the cassette copied to CD so I can listen to it on the way to Redmire.

I managed to put mine on CD a couple of years ago SK. There's nothing like Chris reading his book in the early hours while your driving to one of your favourite fishing places.

Mark, how did you manage to do the transfer from tape to CD. Is it a mp3 recording on the CD?

I just hooked a tape recorder up to my PC, played the tape and saved each chapter as mp3. I cant remember what software I used but it was freeware on downloads.com
