Australian Carp

Post by Dallan47 »

Here in Aus the Carp is classified as a pest and is not allowed to be put back in the water.A lake down the road had a fishing day when all non Australian fish caught were killed. All the fish I have caught were commons up to five Kgs.Have attached a pic of a fish caught any idea what type of carp it is.

It acted strangely.First time Lake fished only to remove non Australian fish.I had walked along the bank and this fish was swimming along the waters edge. One fisherman put a bread bait in front of it.Fish took it in and blew it out.Later it was caught about 100 metres down the bank.

Nowt in Oz - surely. They are a pest rather like our immigrant crayfish species - to be killed.
