I've managed a 1lb 8oz roach as part of a five roach catch on the Severn a few years ago.
All fish were over a pound. It was possibly by most memorable days fishing.

Information wise (for anyone that wishes to try their luck. It was the stretch above Stourport run by Lyttleton AC as you head towards Bewdley. I fished bronze maggots in a medium feeder on a 12ft rod. There was a couple of inches of extra water on after rain and there was a bit of colour. There's several good swims on that stretch of the Severn, but probably best to try on a weekeday as there's a match most weekends. Go and chat to Mark at Mark's Tackle on Raven Street.

My biggest roach of 2lbs 7 oz came from the Severn near Stourport, a swim Des Taylor put me on to.

But I caught lots of big roach from certain gravel pits in Oxfordshire to 2lbs 4 oz.

However I failed in the waters I really wanted to catch 2 lb roach from, the Trent and the Notts Idle are two of them.
