Roach fishing on local club lake
Just manage to get out on a local club lake for a spot of roach fishing.Had the best roach ever on maggots and worm on the float.Being trying for a number of years for the roach but only manage a few fish.Well that changed in a big way by taking fifty fish in a four hour session. With all fish being quarter to three quarter pounds in weight .As quickly as it started the swim started to blank. Then all hell broke loose with a pike of 6lb just taked a fancy to my worm bait on my 4lb line and 14 size hook.Well the fish did not wake up until it was in the net being ready to return to the water.Hence the movement in the pic.Normally would be onto the tench but no luck as yet as the water is still a bit chilled.By looking around the like it does not look very spring like, need to give it another month for the tench

MGs I agree a most beautiful fish. A big roach is a thing to behold.
TA it sounds like a great day.

I have laid aside business, and gone a'fishing.

A lovely, bright roach.
And I bet that pike gave you a fright!

It's always nice to see pristine roach like that, a refreshing change from carp. Sounds like a great session you had there.

A lovely, shining roach, Sir. Well done.

Lovely catch there sir
Chance is always powerful. Let your hook be always cast; in the pool where you least expect it, there will be a fish
