The best snaggy swims

Post by Blueavocet »

I always associate Chub with snaggy swims and sometimes sense that i have a tackle death wish getting into them. But then perhaps that is part of chubbing- pitting yourself against the lair as well as the adversary? Pictured here is a swim from which i extracted a modest chub yesterday, despite the warm weather on the upper River Wey. I wondered what your favourite snaggy swim was and whether that featured strongly in a pride of capture regarding Master Chevin?!

The second image is from a book, 'Secret River' I have out this autumn from Little Egret Press. Perhaps I could have got Chevin's nose a bit blunter(?), but it does serve to emphasize snag city which for me is the essence of chub! There are the snags you can see and the ones you don't know about!!

Landing a fish safely in a snaggy swim can be tricky to say the least, but the rewards are well worth the challenge.
Lovely drawing Blueavocet, well done :Thumb:
