Anybody any idea what this (see title) means, as noted in today's Andrew's of Arcadia blog? Surely it can't mean "in a lump, straight from the freezer"? Maybe it means "without excessive additional sawdust, wood shavings or other material designed to give you short measure"?

Or is he being whimsical - pint being associated with liquids?

There was a piece in the Times recently about a winter when the Thames froze and milk and beer were sold by weight.
