Yes a great attractant but given it is present in vomit, cheesy feet and old cheese (esp Parmasan) and it stinks of vomit and clings to hair and clothes it is one to avoid.
I use it for experiments and the labs stink for ages!
I once took some home and opened it outside near my dog and he went mad and thought there was a huge smelly lump of cheese around somewhere! :Hahaha:

That's the stuff, I remember now and totally agree with your stance although I'm tempted to dip them in our local kebab house's finest.

I pinch my worm in half then put the hook through the broken ends. It always surprises me how a 2oz perch can get the whole of it in it's mouth, then the worm gets in the way of you seeing the hook to get the disgorger to it.

God never did make a more calm, quiet, innocent recreation than angling.

Likewise. Supposedly the broken ends leak attractant and the fish is more likely to grab the hook.

I sometimes use lob tail and feed it onto the hook as sea anglers do with lugg or rag worm.

When after bigger fish I use whole lobs.

Dick Walker took his largest barbel from the Middle Avon on a size 1 hook with three lobworms.

I have caught large barbel, perch and chub using two worms.

Not a bad day to be using worms of any sort!

Hugo

As per the advice of Old Izaak ... I leave my worms in fresh fennel for at least 3 days before fishing.

Lobworms will catch almost any fish, the bigger they are the more effective they are - usually.
I find it most effective when hooked once about a third of the way along, either floatfished or freelined or with a couple of swanshot on the line.

There is no peace on earth like the peace of fishing in the early mornings

Well, I took myself and my worms out this afternoon. Unfortunately the river was flowing too swiftly for my meger skills so I set up at the canal nearby.

A few hours float fishing near the bridge

This swim produced a dozen or so perch plus a surprise Pope/Ruffe

The best of which was this pretty little perch of around a pound
