Post by NiceRoach »

Just back from the grain store for my summer stock up of Hemp. It's fair gone up in price over the years
(what hasn't) but they offered me some free bags of 'flaked crushed pea'. Anybody every tried it? :tea:

The sack I bought worked out at £2kg, which included the £7 postage.
It is Chinese hemp and the best I have ever bought, it started to split on soaking, then only took about 20 mins cooking/simmering. Let's hope it catches too

I purchased 20kg of "huge" hemp before the start at 38 quid....it would appear that the price has risen considerably as from memory last year the same size bag cost around £29. I wouldn't be without hemp though for tench fishing at the begining of he season and we've already had 3 over 6lb from our river venue and numerous fours and fives....pretty good going for river tenching.

Same here guys.

I'm out on day 1 - this weekend and I'm using hemp exclusively as an attractor.

Not offering freebies other than hemp hemp or more hemp.

Over the top of which there will be every other conceivable hook bait, including
live and fake - caster :tea:

P.s River Tench? - now who is a lucky boy.

Whilst I use hemp, and will continue to do so, I also use stewed wheat* as a loose feed. Its heavy enough to just sink into the mud, to encourage grubbing around and at around £14 for 20kg its cheap......

Hot water soak, bucket/lid method or soak, germinate, boil.....
