I use liquidised bread and then add some crushed hemp to the mixer. Fengreek, turmeric and aniseed are all good flavours for roach although normally I add them to maggots rather than the ground bait. Have a look on youtube at 'gardon mix' various French anglers all showing their 'secret' roach groundbait recipes, lots of crushed biscuits etc going in.

Soon be time to start mixing up something nice for those roach on the river. I'll let July pass and then sneak out and prebait a couple of swims the month after......
Trouble is, the fish just don't read the books......
