Having done some heavy duty sewing in the past nor related to leatherwork.
I would recommend you try a sailmakers palm, not expensive and they don't
half help on the push through.
Very good looking finish there, you have a natural eye for tidy.

That's perfect, Paul...and a good deal nicer looking than the rare old Hardy original. I had no idea you could buy the tube on eBay, but it's the contrasting leatherwork that really sets it off.

YOU ARE A MODEST MAN! the result is fabulous .I say it time and again the skill of the members on this forum is amazing.
My efforts are mixed but the enjoyment is well worth it.

Thanks Bobby, the bottom cap was simply turned from a scrap of brass bar.
