Youngs of Harrow

Do you know of a good traditional fishing tackle shop, past and present.

Well there is a Clive Young restoring rods once again. I don't know if it's the same feller, or perhaps his son, but he's writing Young's of Harrow on some of the rods. They are for sale on eBay from seller 'middletonstu'.

I am sure that someone may have told me that it is Clive Young who now lives somewhere in Wales.Steve Middleton used to advertise in Waterlog when he had the shop Traditional Angling Products.I think he has started selling tackle again both old and new.Middletonstu could be him?.I think that i came across his website but have lost it.Sorry to be so vague but i hope it helps.I have an Allcocks Isis that was refurbished(i was told)by Clive Young. It is a top job though the colours of the whippings are slightly different to original. The previous owner didnt mind.

Steve Middletons website 'Traditional Angling Products' already has a link from this forum.

I remember him and his shop, a very helpful chap who helped me get some spare spools for my Abu 508, which wasn't easy.
Really good to know he's still going strong. And yes, isn't it good to see someone NOT wearing a look of studied gloom as they hold a fine fish!

Is this the chap who does the restorations for Woodys of Wembley...I think he may be. If so he done the float reverser that I mentioned on the Craftversa thread.

Very :hat: good craftsmanship

Mr Youngs, smile with the carp says it all.Weve all been there Im sure.

I should think that might have been John Drewett:

Another good 'un!

Mr Vole
John Drewett was the very man who took the cash from me hand in return for the fine peice of cane. However it was he that told me it was a former Rod maker from Youngs that did the restoring.
