I'm thinking of joining this fishery for the 14/15 season. Can anyone share an opinion of this stretch of the Avon please...is it worth the money and/or the hour and a half journey from my house??
Regards
Dan

Ooh looking forward to hearing about this, I was a member in the nineties and really enjoyed my time there!

The Syndicate is currently undergoing changes due to Lease renewals. I fish there each month on a regular basis.

Dan,
I've only been a member of Hale Park for the last two seasons but have been impressed with how the fishery has been run, have thoroughly enjoyed both the beauty and solitude of the place, and have had a reasonable catch return for the effort expended.
In case you didn't know there will be changes next season as part of the fishery (in vicinity of Hale bridge) will no longer be included, effectively creating two sections. However the annual fee proposed adequately takes this into consideration. If you decide to join, may see you bankside sometime.
Tightlines,
Roger

Bob the Bailiff at Hale has put all the info you need together with a drawing of the water on the Hale Park website.

Some of the barbel in the photos on the website are amongst the most stunning barbus barbus I think I have ever seen. Thanks for the link!
I seem to remember that Ken Campbell was running the fishery when I was there. The fish look to have got bigger but it is/was some of the most peaceful and interesting Avon fishing I had.
