William Lennon
I have been searching around for some classic cycling shoes. There are some companies still making them (Quoc Pham and Vittoria). However, I stumbled across these guys, who are making similar items for half the price.

The reviews on the web are positive and they are based and manufacture in the UK.
Although I'm guessing that not many of you are going to be interested in leather cycling shoes, the other boots and footwear may be more to your liking. The prices certainly look reasonable

Fair enough, I'm not surprised, but the idea of spending £250 on one pair of shoes for a leisure activity is way above what most could people could ever afford .MGs wrote:They are half the price that I pay for my modern cycling shoes!

Lennon's cycling shoes are £61.95, which seems pretty reasonable for British leather shoes.

I normally pay about £100 for my modern ones. These are what I use at the moment

With a good time trial bike with racing wheels costing anything up to £8000 a few hundred quid for shoes isn't a big expense. Not that I ride such a beast. I'm still racing a steel frame.
I suppose its no different to fishing with a Barder rod and Coxon Aerial. Not that I do that either. Some people will always spend more than others. The bike I race cost me £600, all secondhand apart from the wheels which cost half of the £600 total.

I agree with MG the shoes are a very good price, my memory goes back to the type I wore in the 60/70's very supple black leather with holes in the summer ones (uppers and soles) with alloy shoe plates tacked on ! white socks classic look ! hope that Bradley Wiggins (or another Brit) wins Paris - Roubaix tomorrow.

Fishing means you´ll need a rod. Cycling means you´ll need a bike. You´ll need some accessories, too. Like floats and hooks or shoes. And these shoes look very nice at a good price. In Belgium they know about cycling Best, Bobby

Re: William Lennon
These boots seem to be amazingly low priced given they are hand made and often to order.
Plenty of other boot makers would charge double this price. Most are a bit specialist though. I wonder how many they sell.
Buying cheap boots and shoes is a false economy. I still wear several pairs of Ducker and son shoes I bought nearly 20 years ago. They are my work shoes and although expensive just keep on going.
I like the replica 1st World War boots.
