Who said we wont see another one. Have a look on ebay, looks like black paint has been stripped, and rewhipped, but badge is intact.

Just search on allcocks feathero.

Cheers

One thing's certain, nobody could say that was short of rings.

Sorry for late reply Colin, been away a bit lately.

Yes I remember yours mate, it is a lovely rod and the only hollow built rod made by Allcocks, I thought the unique whipping pattern was nice too.

The glass Feathero could be the forerunner to the ferrule-less fibreglass models in the 66 catalogue & beyond.

Tubular steel (was it aluminium) was used by Aspindale - several rods have been on th'ebay in recent years. And don't forget Apollo - Taperflash, Taperflix, spinning rods, etc all tubular steel.

But a cane Feathero - looks lovely Bumble! A similar pattern was used on the Record Breaker.

Yes those late Aspindale ones were aluminium, made by British Aluminium, Studley Rd. Redditch. The last rods made by that incarnation of the Aspindale name. Compound tapers with the metal only 12 thou. thick, they were better than fibreglass, let alone steel!

I really don't know to be honest, they were thought to be so rare as they never made it into production before the funding was withdrawn by the bank, but there's been a few on eBay of late so they aren't that rare. I've an idea some may have been circulating the match circuit to be assessed.

For that matter, I've only ever seen two Allcocks Feathero rods.

Some of this stuff is well known about, but it's still pretty rare.....I've seen more Craftversas  :Hahaha: :laugh1:
