Re: END OF SEASON
I've been biding my time as the Wye has been an unforgiving mistress of late. Those opting to spend a day hunched over a static rod whilst the cold east wind seeks out gaps in their attire have fared badly with a few below average chub here and there. The river is now up and doubtless full of snow melt from the mountains and needs a few days to settle. Time was I'd be there regardless but now, let's just say I'm putting my experience to good use and saving myself for when - or if - it sufficiently improves.
I'm much more likely to visit a pond and try for a few carp on the float.
Personally I blame Tony Blair for the bad weather.

Hopefully it was the appetiser before the main course, and pudding will follow too.Bob Brookes wrote:Just a splasher Shaun.

I'd certainly agree with you Dave on your last sentence....tends to be the root problem behind most of our woes...

Re: END OF SEASON
I drove from Essex to Leeds and back yesterday and it was truly biblical!Shaun Harrison wrote:Totally sympathise Bob, hopefully my planned trip with your Bob'let will still be okay Sunday.
I can't see where the water has come from as we haven't had a silly amount, it must have totally deluged on Stoke. Levels have risen from 1.513 m yesterday to 2.817 and for a river as big as the Trent a 1.3 m rise is a hell of a lot of water. Then again, it does have to push uphill to Hull.
Looks like your 'other tackle' will need to be let free rather than abusing the cane for what it was never made for.

Re: END OF SEASON
The Dane is looking quite high here in Cheshire. I was hoping to spend the last few days long trotting.

Any more action?Bob Brookes wrote:Just a splasher Shaun.
Just had a text from Bob junior and I see he's helped himself to a nice fish after work.
The barbel should be loving this water if you can get a lead to hold.
I can't get until tomorrow evening
