My LRH Number 2
Well it arrived today and I couldn't be happier. Such a quality piece of cane the fish and impressive fixtures and fittings. It feels right and I can't believe how slim it is. Why haven't I sought one of these before!?
The action is perfect for extracting carp from my favourite pools and the spring loaded locating pin on the ferrule is genius. It's as straight as an arrow too. The rings are a tad corroded and the whippings are tired so I think it'll benefit from a good going over. Can't wait to get started.

Looks and sounds lovely Stu, I might need to source one myself for stalking, keep us informed of its performance.
Any numbers on it Stu for dating purposes.

That is a superb rod you have laid your hands on there. I hope you have many happy days with.

Re: My LRH Number 2
The handles are beautifully slim aren't they? Lovely in the hand.
Cast a good weight to when I'm dead baiting and fishing the leads.
Im going to give both of mine a coat of varnish before the start of the new season. Might really test mine on some catfish this year.

Hardy rods produced with serial numbers E57901 to E60708 were produced in 1946, so your rod Stu is a very early 1946 rod, produced not long after the war. It is three scoreyear and ten years old.The Sweetcorn Kid wrote:Ok, couldn't wait.

They made the LRH rods for a long time, didn't they? I think both of mine were made in the 60s if I remember correctly.

Splendid SK, Sir.

1946!!?? Crikey!!!
And to think, old Walker went through all that to design a carp rod when these were readily available.
