Traditional angling clothing
How about a section to discuss traditional clothing, what we wear, what brands/ tailors did famous anglers use, recommended shops that sort of thing.
For the upcoming traditional days out, I'm after a tweed jacket preferably second hand and with a 50 inch chest are there any out there?

Re: Traditional angling clothing
I actually wrote 'men's tweed jacket' on the search line on ebay this very morning :hahaha:

Re: Traditional angling clothing
My current jacket is a Donegal Tweed by M&S, from the days when they could proudly claim that over 90% of clothing they sold was made in the UK and Eire (unlike today, when about the same percentage is made in the Far East). I picked it up, virtually unworn, for £7 in a charity shop about 3 years ago. I confidently expect it to "last me out", such is its quality.
I've been wearing it to work since I bought it, but when I retire (in 15 months time, but who's counting?), I may treat it to an outing or two on the riverbank.
Modern tweed doesn't seem to be the same quality as the older stuff, so eBay or charity shops is the way to go if you're not already "sorted".

Do you mean "Fine Horse", SK? If so, I'm afraid to say they're a cheapo outfit, albeit with a London label, that imports everything from China. I've got one of their waistcoats! The Sweetcorn Kid wrote:My flat cap is by Great Horse, whoever they are???
