does anyone out there know of this tackle shop /company which i believe was in redditch from at least the 1930's. so many great old tackle dealers and tackle makers from that area,sadly gone.

thanks nobby. The history of all these small firms making fishing tackle in those olden days would make a great book if anyone could ever write it.

Albert Smith apparently were both a manufacturer and retailer trading in Redditch in the 30's and 40's. They produced a catalogue in 1939, 176 pages. There are currently 2 of these available from abebooks.co.uk. Priced at £34.50 and £40.25. Apperently the cheaper version has a number of additional pages added. This could be of interest to the collector.
