Recommended Warm Winter Woolie

Post by AshbyCut »

With chillier weather fast approaching ... and because I'm one of the world's worst at feeling the cold ... I thought I'd share details of a 'countryman jumper' which I've had for over a year now, and I can honestly say is the warmest and most comfortable sweater I've ever owned.

Available in three colours (I have the 'derby tweed'), it's really well made in 100% pure wool with suede shoulder and elbow patches ... and as the website proclaims "as this knitwear design is still individually crafted on a hand-frame, its truly a traditional work of art." Well worth a peek if you're on the lookout for a winter jumper (and no, I'm not on commission ... sadly ! ;-) )

Mine has been fine, Sir ... but treated with care.

There's a 'Washcare' sub page, just under the photo on the link I posted, with extensive details.

Basically it states "wash on a wool program, using a non-bio detergent at a maximum spin speed of 600 rpm. These should be reshaped and allowed to dry naturally." They also list recommended washing detergents.

That's nice. Prefer a V neck but I may have to indulge.

Not even in my prime, Sir ... I never possessed a '6 pack,' but seem to have developed a Watney's Party Seven !!!!!

Just ordered the derby tweed version for myself - it will also be a good jumper for wearing when fishing.
Thanks for the recommendation Mal. :Hat:
