Im trying to put a date on the one i have, does anyone know when Sowerbutts stopped using the Shoreditch address and changed it to E.1. ?

Well Sowerbutts moved to 151 Commercial Street in 1877. As to changing the address to E1 on the engraving......the Mole knowledge hits the buffers :surrender:

Perhaps the great Michael Nadell will have the answer and so will attempt to contact him :Wink:

Hi Mosley , don't know if this helps you but from my recollection the dates below might answer your question .
1827 - 1863 the family were at 12 Duke Street Spitalfields
1863 - 1875 at 3 Blossomm Terrace
1875 - 1877 at 38 Commercial Street
1877 - 1980 at 151 Commercial Street
