Re: New member
Hi we'll try as I might to post a picture ( I'm not a computer man) I'm afraid I'll have to paint you one with words.
I found my dads old split cane rod fixed the knocking ferrules and took a proper rod out for my first time ever last Thursday to my local estate pool .Fishing for carp with an allcock record breaker centre pin 8lb maxima size 10 free line with one shot and red maggot .After 20mins I was hooked into a good carp that took me straight in to the lilies where I said goodbye to it
No matter I ended the day with 2 handsome tench my favourite of all fish and considering that I've never caught or even heard of anyone catching tench from this pool before it must be a sign
Set up for carp I obviously didn't get the chance to see how the rod felt as fish both only about 3 1/2 lb but it felt and looked great sticking out of the reeds
I know very little about cane rods as I've only just seen the light so if you can help identifying it I would be very grateful.
It has gold lable constable of Bromley ( no other markings)
10'6" long with all through action about 1 1/2lb test curve
Solid bottom and middle section with split cane top section and the prettiest red win coloured whipping
As for my reel I know record breaker is a bit tinny but just received allcock aerial c815 in post that I got on internet auction site for only £51 and it spins and works perfectly so guess where I'm off tomorrow despite the rain
Tight lines

Hi Odney, I can't help you identifying the rod but maybe I can point you in the right direction to uploading pictures
When writing your post look out for this black square with the green circle in the middle and follow the instructions. It's quite simple really ...
Well done with the tench by the way! They're prettier than carp anyway. Well done Odney!

Re: New member
Nice rod and reel and some beautiful tench!
Now take some detailed pictures of your rod and put a 'help me identify my rod' thread in the traditional rod section of the forum. The very knowledgeable gentlemen of the TFF will put a name to your rod in no time!
