Re: A nice old Speedia
i'd thought the collective noun for a bunch of speedia's = a spin of speedia's

Steve, your Speedia knowledge is astounding!Chavender wrote: ↑Thu Jun 29, 2017 11:55 pm what would seem a simple set of reels ,is anything but ,it seems they kept tinkering with the design or just waited until old parts ran out before adding new ones .its only when they changed the logo on the back did real change in the design kick in no wonder they called it the improved model .
they are a most intresting reel .

well its been gathered over many years researching into them and playing with them .I think as far as the history goes between me and nobby we've probably covered about 80% ,there's still more too be found out possibly ,although a lot has passed into the mists of time .

I can understand that RBT, I'm so impressed with my recently acquired wide drum model, I think I'm going to look out for a narrow drum version too!RBTraditional wrote: ↑Tue Jul 04, 2017 9:31 pm Just love em! I have four and wouldn't part with any...

Crazy thing is we still don't know the name of the bloke who made them! I've run out of ideas of who to ask now. Great little reels, I have one here that spins for over 3 minutes, a thing I didn't think possible. I put one of MacMan's 3D printed circular arbours on it and it's just about perfect.
