MarkE can I strongly suggest you take Martin up on his kind offer. I have known Martin know for over 10 years and we have become firm friends he has taught me more about river fishing for Chub and Barbel than any other angler I have ever fished with, I should add that is more than a few, bite his hand off and PM you will learn more in day with Martin than many more over a 3 month period.

Hi Martin, I hope that you are well. Thanks very much for your kind offer. I've been fortunate to fish with you on the Wye and Ribble (My brother-in-law, Albert is a friend of yours.) I've just joined this forum, so you might not have recognised my name.

I've seen Brendan on the Ribble a couple of times, sporting his cane rods. Seeing these made me want to buy one for myself, together with a centrepin.
