Welcome Andy. If you fancy a day on the Stour with an "Otter", only too happy to oblige, but I can't promise a blank!
The good angler is not the one with expensive equipment. Common sense, observation and trying to realize
what is happening above and below water will catch fish no matter what price equipment you fish with.

Welcome aboard Andy :Hat:
Not a fish was visible that first time I visited Beechmere; an utter
stillness brooded over the place and I felt the strange and sinister atmosphere which, so the story goes,
has been the cause of several suicides.’

Well done Andy - nothing quite like looking forward to winding down the work commitments so you can look at the river levels, colour, temperature and so on, then go out and do your stuff when and where you like !!
From your intro it sounds like you will get a lot of pleasure from TFF
Trouble is, the fish just don't read the books......

Hi Andy - for some of the best high quality blanks I recommend the beautiful Letton Oxbow Lake in Herefordshire, formed many years ago when the wonderful river Wye was dammed in two places. It has carp, tench and a lovely head of bream to 8lb. But last Spring I managed just two bream in twelve trips. You may say I am a krap angler, and that may be true, but I know that many talented anglers, even TFF's very own Dave Burr, has blanked here.
But its a fabulous place to blank. Google Letton Court fishery......
Trouble is, the fish just don't read the books......
