A lovely day with my good lady at the Essex Game and Country fair today, brought forth a couple of little acquisitions...

On one of the stands was a chap called Barry Grantham... some of his reels were way out of my price range... but a little 3" Tideflo Hydroflo was picked up for a few pounds...

It should go well with the impending Wally Rod and an adjacent book stall brought forth a book "Roach And How To Catch Them... a couple of nice shirts and a bag o' fudge completed my spending spree :Hat:

At just 8ft it has to be "The Wallington Wand"

I'm with Lea Dweller, "the Wallington Wand" it has to be, as every Wand I've had has been about this length, and caught my best Roach on one, sitting in a snow storm, oh for those days when I was young, and as mad as a hatter. :Hahaha:

In all seriousness, I have just had to censure my good lady with a literal kick up the arse.... she came in from the kitchen and suggested.....

"How about Roddy McRodface".... :club:

She is back in the kitchen sniggering with barely disguised glee and rubbing her bottom at the same time... I now have a sore foot and dented pride :club:

I would go for the Wally Gonk Wizard.

There is a (small) river Wallington which flows through Fareham in Hampshire where some of the Portsmouth club members fish for Gudgeon and have a match for said purpose. If this is not the same Wallington the it is a coincidence that they are both gudgeon rivers. The Sweetcorn Kid is a member of that august group. Perhaps he can clarify.
