Creel Identity?
Is it possible to identify a creel manufacturer?
The creel pictured below arrived at Lucky towers today.
I'm wondering if someone recognises it or the badge engraved on the clasp?

I walked across an empty land
I knew the pathway like the back of my hand
I felt the earth beneath my feet
Sat by the river and it made me complete.

Not a clue, but that is rather lovely....

Cheers chaps! It is rather lovely. I will give it a thorough clean, soak and linseed treatment to bring it back to its best.
The registration marks it as Silver plate May 1880 I believe.
Hopefully having a silver plate clasp is a sign of quality.

Just 3 words Luv Er Lee.
If you have no grease with you, and your rings are full of ice, do not cut out the ice with a pen-knife but get your man to put the rings one by one in his mouth, and so to thaw the ice.

Re: Creel Identity?
The registration mark is used on many items LL not just metals, I only put that site up as it was the first I found that showed the kite type registration mark. So, your clasp may have been brass and not plated. Sorry if I have confused the issue a bit . Registration numbers and marks are widely used to show that an item is a registered design and the date, and a Google trawl will explain it better than I can. I noticed from the date letter that it was old, really old, and I just knew you would be pleasantly surprised. What a lovely find and that little mark is something really special as you have an almost exact date for it.. what a result.
EDIT.. have a look at this site it explains the mark... https://www.kovels.com/identification-h ... marks.html
