I like that model and yes i go for the natural colors if i can manage to get it natural as possible Dave, i start with a silver layer and work from there with gold, withe and red colors, details are important for a fish like this so we see what happen :-)Dave Burr wrote: ↑Sun Apr 15, 2018 7:51 pm Sorry about the quality of the picture but I have a plaster/ceramic rudd which has been painted to look like brass Evert. I think it's quite effective and a lot easier than trying to match a rudd's natural colours
I know, you'll do it the hard way and make a brilliant job of it

Re: Mold for Rudd
First color is on the rudd, i started with basic silver and build up layers off gold with a brown transparent varnish to get color gradations
More details must be added and will finish it with a few layers high gloss varnish to give the rudd a wet look :-)

That’s looking really good that, can’t wait to see it finished. Might give that a go myself one day.

Beautiful Evert!
I walked across an empty land
I knew the pathway like the back of my hand
I felt the earth beneath my feet
Sat by the river and it made me complete.

Re: Mold for Rudd
You have made a lovely job of that and in such a short space of time, by itself or a small shoal in a case or standing proud on a board would look nice.
