Which bird quills?
An interesting find at the boot fair this morning. Each quill is around 70 cm (28") long.
Does anyone know which bird they'd be from? My 1st though was peacock but now I'm not so sure.

I walked across an empty land
I knew the pathway like the back of my hand
I felt the earth beneath my feet
Sat by the river and it made me complete.

I did not get the picture so cannot tell, but whatever bird it is I would not want to try and pinch it's food!

Having seen the picture, like you I am thinking Peacock, but I am no expert. The quills will certainly yield a fair number of floats, well spotted!LuckyLuca wrote: ↑Sat May 05, 2018 12:53 pmPhoto working now Ted.Lea Dweller wrote: ↑Sat May 05, 2018 12:42 pm I did not get the picture so cannot tell, but whatever bird it is I would not want to try and pinch it's food!

I cannot think of many - if any - birds with straight quills as long as that! Other than a peacock.
Giant pheasant perhaps - usually only tail feathers are straight - wing quills have a curve.

It looks like a section of the feather ends has been cut off, only a Peacock tail feather would be that long.

Don't be daft, they are covered in chocolate and only a few inches long!

Using Penguin would you get better waddling wagglers?
