Hello Josh, welcome to the TFF,
My Chapman 500 with either a Rapidex or a Mitchell 300 works fine for me.

Re: Hello from Doncaster
Josh - welcome. The choice is bewildering - really need to suit the rod to the type of fishing you prefer. Chapmans might be a little too stiff for roach and small carp fishing. Whatever you do enjoy it.

Welcome to the forum Josh. Nice to see some young blood getting into traditional angling.
The 500 and Rapidex/300 is a perfect all round starter combo and suitable for most types of traditional angling.

Thank you all ever so much for the warm welcoming, glad you all agree on the 500. Also, thank you for the PM Bumble, was great to hear from you and look forward to fishing together in the future.

Fishing is not just a sport, it's a way of life. It's an escape from reality, away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. It's just you, a river, and an old Willow tree hidden away from everything.

Welcome aboard Josh
Not a fish was visible that first time I visited Beechmere; an utter
stillness brooded over the place and I felt the strange and sinister atmosphere which, so the story goes,
has been the cause of several suicides.’
