Sui Generis: 'Of it's own kind, In a class by itself'

Post by Richard C »

As I am celebrating a milestone birthday this year, I decided to treat myself to something a little special.
This has been planned for many, many months. A couple of years actually and numerous emails have pinged back and forth.
There was only ever going to be one person that I could entrust with the task, namely our very own 'Watermole'. The reel wizard from the west.

My instructions were simple, I want the lightest 4' pin available, a loosely based cross between Walkers 'B.B' reel and the Conquest designed to use with very light lines, primarily for Roach and Grayling.
I was asked to put some rough drawings together and send them along. Something I was a little dubious to do. Dare I send my scrawls to somebody so talented and technically brilliant? I bit the bullet and clicked on send...

I'm extremely pleased that at lunchtime today I took receipt of a very special reel from the postman.
I've not had chance to take any of my own photo's just now but forward Leszek's which he kindly let me use.
So here we are then... Thank you once again Leszek, pure genius!

Sublime, utterly gorgeous and a very apt name!
