It was a lovely day with some lovely people and Martin's speech about Dick Walker was just wonderful.

Some lovely pictures there GG, I can't wait for the link to your Onedrive. :Hat:

It was a great privilege to be at Martins superb event to launch a book to commemorate the one hundred years since the birth of Richard Stuart Walker. As Mark said, Martins speech was absolutely amazing. It was wonderful to see and to meet so many like minded people.
And thank you GG for so many lovely photos of the day.

I wish I could have been there to share such a wonderful occasion, but with very elderly folks to look after and spring time at the farm the days are not long enough to fit everything in......

I wish I could have been there myself but unfortunately not as the business of geting a residence permit has detained me in France. Looks like it was a great day.

I suspect it could be “love”, despite its drawbacks in the rhyming department.

Martin

I have received my contributors edition of Dick Walker the Legend together with a limited edition copy I bought for my 89 year old dad, who is without doubt my greatest angling influence along with my grandad, uncles and of course dear old Dick Walker.
I must say that the book is beautifully produced and a real credit to you and the work you have undertaken to compile it and have it published.
I am immensely proud to have been asked by you to contribute to this project and be regarded as a worthy contributor....I’m just an old country boy really... :Chuckle: I’ve always enjoyed your writing over the years and meeting you at various angling functions. I’m pleased that we get to meet up a couple of times a year on the Beult and share some bank time, tea and banter, long may it continue....angling friendships are special.....

All the very best
Rob

I choose to read this book a little at a time. There are so many amazing contributions that I need to digest each one carefully and thoughtfully before I start on the next. And then I will go back to the beginning and start again.

The only thing that shines through to me from every single writer I have read so far, is that Dick Walker was a truly extraordinary human being.
