Hardy Altex - to scap or not to scrap

Post by Keston »

I have an Altex no 2 mk5 I think ( no anti reverse )
It has a bail arm issue that It beyond me . The reel itself is in very good condition and as far as I can see it functions as it should apart from aforementioned issue .
The reel doesn't owe me much and I'm very aware of the shortage of Altex parts . Might this one be better sacrificed to save others ?
Kind regards
John

Gary Mills tackled an Altex bail for me successfully. Maybe worth a call - he can make the spring if needed.

If it's in very good condition then it's worth having sorted out, in my opinion.

Thank you , yes I believe it may be repairable, just not by myself . It's not a spring issue .

Thanks Beresford , I think that it may be repairable and make a good reel . I don't need it as I have a nice one up and running . I wasnt sure if the world needed the parts more than the working reel.
