John-A emailed me the photos, and here they are.
Has anyone ever seen guides like these on any other maker's rods ?

Brilliant, we had lots of hump-backed bridges over the Fenland drains in years past, so that would make them feel at home !Wallys-Cast wrote: ↑Wed Sep 04, 2019 10:45 pm Hump back bridge rings.

I'd love to know if these rings are still available anywhere ( very doubtful I know ) as I'd like to refit as near original as possible.
I'm very grateful to AshbyCut for his help and observations on this rod, which seems likely to have been a one-off commission by Precision Rods

I’ve never seen this before, I wonder what the logic was? Or just pure aesthetics?

Re: Precision Rods - Range of Cane Rods
Are the legs of the rings joined together. If not they look a little like the ones where the legs are bound to the blank on either side. This would make the ring lower looking once on the rod.
I had a similar one on a combination rod extension section which had a split ring to allow the section to be fitted or removed without the need for breaking down the tackle.
