Somewhat disappointed I didn't make the top 50, if only they'd seen this picture. My son's mate gave me a T shirt from Thailand which is just 'style' personified.
After the picture was taken it was stuffed back in my bag and may well still be there

Well, according to my Angler's Guide this is how we should really be dressing . Actually ,as a child of the period , I do recall how obligatory Airtex vests were at all times in the 60s .

In order to shoot some close-ups, wildlife photographer ,the late Len Scapstillon, lured the orca to him by dressing as a seal.......

I had a look at the Guardian article and must admit I really liked a lot of the garments shown. I am a wax jacket and flat cap man myself but could see my self wearing the clothing shown. I would of course anoint myself with a splash of original Aramis before stepping out, who wouldn't.

I had Aertex vests too. But I can't remember people wearing nothing else on top while tackling up. Not a thing to be recommended on the banks of the Leeds and Liverpool as it would have attracted adverse comment as well as inviting hypothermia. The hat and pipe seem to clash a bit with that.

I’ve got a check jacket the spit of the £170 job in the article; mine cost tenner from Aldi’s “lucky dip” aisle.
