If any reel can be said to have a soul this masterpiece can.
What a priceless treasure has been mined from wood and metal.
It's been a long time since I got the trembles on the 16th. I would with this beauty.
An honour to follow the thread.
All the best.

Absolutely fantastic Watermole but curses, I came upon this thread whilst trying to find an ambidex restoration to see how to remove the sideplates. Half an hour later I've still not found it and have been mesmorized by your creations again instead.
Nevermind.
I hope you are well my friend, it's been a while.
All the best,
Matt

Well, I would like to thank you Matt for finding this post, as I had no idea the TFF had a reel made & named after it - it is a reel where words are simply not enough and made by the extremely talented WM+ The only thing I was wondering - would it be at all possible to submit the pictures again - without photobucket blazoned through the middle?

I have a blog post on the reel in question here:

https://nobbystackle.wordpress.com/2014 ... turned-up/

And further examples of Leszek's work here:

https://nobbystackle.wordpress.com/2014 ... gineering/

I was lucky enough to fish with the reel in question a few times and was asked to be critical. One has to remind oneself that this is only the second reel he had ever made!

Being the perfectionist he is Leszek politely refused several offers for the TFF reel, feeling he could do better. He did countless times, but I still wish I had it ....

My favourite bit? The three pin plug obviously!

Edit: Since I allude to it, the Naiad reel:

Thanks for those links Nobby. I find it just incredible how Leszek makes such a good job of whatever he makes. I remember reading that someone from on here went to visit him once and when he asked them if they could make a reel they replied "I wouldn't have a clue where to start" to which Leszek asked "How do you know if you've never tried?" He puts us all to shame.

That real is just sublime. Fantastic Job Leszek.
