What a great find!
Mr Webbs story in BB's bedside book is one of my favorites,
It was nice to see BB mention his name again in that book.
I was thinking years ago about trying to find Mr Webbs resting place, I must Pursue that.
I can vouch for the fried Gudgeon! ( years ago now)

Ah possibly, the Mr Webb piece is perhaps a distraction!
The reference I was making was BB describing his ( at that time Surrey friend) Chris Yates, and their letters to and fro.
Whilst not naming him directly, the clues were undoubtedly there.

Incidentally, I hadn’t realised Chris’ interest in Purple Emperor butterflies either and have just this morning perused a recent book on this little creature called “His Imperial Majesty ( the Natural history of the Purple Emperor butterfly)” by Matthew Oates in case anyone out there is interested too!
