Can you stroll across that field & fish, Martin?
Sounds ideal.
Welcome.

The close season is an important and interesting time for the Angler who set out to catch big fish. It is a timely opportunity for him to make new tackle or renovate old. There are no end of jobs to do, apart from those horrible things called Gardens!

Thank you. My great uncle and aunt who lived on Lidon road both worked for MARCO. What was the name of the tackle shop at the top of Homesdale road ? long since gone my first rod (split cane) came from there I wish I still had it. I landed my first double figure carp on it 50 years ago considered a big fish then!!.

I don't remember fishing shop in Holmsdale Road?
I have only worked in Bromley ( the whole Borough ) for the past 35 years.,, it might have gone by then?
My shops were Peckham and Nunhead and later Tods Tackle at Lee Green and Downham Tackle..
Hopefully others on the Forum will know the shop in Holmsdale Road?
There were a few rod makers in Bromley.. Marco, as you know,
Chatterton Road Dawsons of Bromley...and Addison Road Constables.
There was a fishing tackle shop in Chatterton Road to towards the end of the road I think from the Bromley High Street end...
There was also one at the start of Masons Hill I think????
Such a shame they have all gone.
Pity you haven't got your rod...we all do it!!!!
Mr B
Ps Biggin Hill Tackle has shut down now.,, open last year..
