5 months later, I finally see this thread!

I have one for sale, but it has had new rings fitted using a different green / black silk and I fitted a tip ring using yet another silk, so this rod has three different silks on it.

As you might have guessed it was my work horse rod and has been used and loved for many years. The rod is in great nick, but the bag has shrunk, as they all do at a sniff of rain. It currently has simple reel bands on as I found the sliding set-up too cold in Winter. I do still have the sliding arrangement though.

I can't post it from where I live though, couriers here just not up to scratch. I live in S W Surrey and can drive an hour in any direction. £85, sound OK?

As I've told people before, I picked one of these up recently. It's OK but really needs some new intermediate rings. Does anyone here know the closest match for the green/black silk? I'm interested in what you say about the reel bands, Nobby. I don't really like them as I find they easily work loose.

A much underrated rod Nobby, and a bargain at £85. I agree regarding the sliding reel fitting, as fitted to the de luxe version. The standard reel bands are good quality, being cast alloy, they are comfortable, and rarely go out of shape.Nice rod, good luck with the sale.
