Re: Hardy and Gordons
I recently acquired a Hardy Gordon 9'6" Fenquest in pretty good condition. I've not used it yet but if feels a very nice rod.

Re: Hardy and Gordons
Good evening, is the Gordon's carpquest comparable to the Hardy Richard Walker No1 rod in terms of lb rating?

Re: Hardy and Gordons
I've never actually compared test curves but the Carpquest is a more through action rod than the Hardy RW No 1. It's less crisp in its action and whilst I like both rods the Hardy RW No 1 is probably the nicer rod to use. I use them with both the same reels/line and they both cope with the same size of fish. Hope this helps (obviously it's all a bit subjective).

Curiously there is a Wallis on THAT site at present.Watermole+ wrote: ↑Sun Jul 29, 2012 6:00 pm I found these references to Gordon designed rods in my Hardy catalogue from 1966, one of the few I kept..! I hope you can read the print OK.
The Wallis rod is interesting because the butt section was tubular glass and not whole cane.
