The Earndale

Post by PerchBasher »

took a punt on an Aspindale “Earndale” on fleabay last week and acquired the rod for a pretty reasonable £34. The rings are a little oxidised, but its dead straight, the cane is true, the cork handle in good condition and the ferrules part with a nice “plop” Its 10’ 8” in length and in action is very close to a lucky Strike. I’m minded to do a restoration job over the winter, but it’s perfectly useable and I christened it yesterday on the River Darent with three gudgeon, a small perch and a chublet which put a bend in the rod and (just) needed the net.

Anyone have any idea of the provenance of this rod. Anyone used one?
