I have just received a 1st edition of "The Angler's Pocket Book" by J. Wentworth Day, published in 1957. The tales of Fritton Lakes given on the pages offered below may be of interest :-
The website of Fritton Lake today says that "Bank fishing is included in your admission price. However it is possible to hire a fishing boat for the day at an additional charge of £5. Fishing is also available at times when the park is seasonally closed." I wish I lived closer.

Fritton Lake
"Beside the water I discovered (or maybe rediscovered) the quiet. The sort of quiet that allows one to be woven into the tapestry of nature instead of merely standing next to it." Estaban.

Re: Fritton Lake
i just wonder how good the fishing is took this from the website
The shallow nature of such features provides
warm nursery areas suitable for the fry and small fish. Towards the west
end of the lake there is a substantial cormorant roost.

Re: Fritton Lake
Cormorants are the least of your problems at Fritton - its a big old place but is used for lots of leisure activities! I tend not to fish it anymore.
