My only input is that the bites I experienced, when I used them on a recent perch trip, were quite quick as opposed to the sail away and hang on you often get with a worm. So if you are going to spend most of your time undoing the knitting that the boys create, your rod is not exactly a 'sleeper' rod and you may miss that all important moment when a 3 pounder comes a calling.

I always take a length of rope and, if I can't get to hit my own bites, I will just tie them up to a tree for an hour or so!
