To be fair the seller started at 99p and J Brammer in his time was considered to be the God of float making! Really surprised you chaps have never heard of him!

The floats are well enough done but not up to the standard of many of the artisans on this forum.

Without naming names, I have seen many floats made by TFF members, that would stand comparison with these!

The bidding looks odd to me, the floats ordinary (by comparison with TFF members work).

Hi Santiago,

My reason for asking was mainly that I had never heard of him (although I am very far from an expert and fairly new to this game) and I can find no references to him on google or any of my books. What was his era?

I think that the seller is using the principle "there's one born every minute" here, it's quite ludicrous. I've got a box similar to that which I bought at Gerry's in Wimbledon in the early 80's for a tenner, and it's got 2 tiers!!

Ted.

Having said that upon looking at the seller info, such as it is, it does seem bona fide, though for the life of me I still cannot see what makes these floats/box so valuable. " Every day is a school day "

Neither have I! The seller's obviously deluded! His eBay use name is J------J and the first bid is from a user called J------J.

So in affect he's stopped himself from selling the boxed floats!! Yes, there's one born every minute and he must be one of them!!!

If they are genuine bids these people will also be allowed to vote in May.... makes you think doesn't it.
